RPL – Qualification Transfer

The RPL qualification transfer pathway is for tennis coaches who have previously obtained certification (minimum of a Junior Development) through either Tennis Australia (TA), Tennis Coaches Australia (TCA) or the International Tennis Federation (ITF). For those coaches, a qualification transfer to the ATPCA equivalent accreditation will be arranged and exempt from any associated RPL fee. If your situation falls under the RPL qualification transfer criteria and you would like to transfer your coaching accreditation over to the ATPCA’s equivalent level of accreditation, simply Apply Now below.

RPL – Video Submission

The RPL video submission accreditation pathway is for experienced tennis professionals who do not possess a current professional coaching certification (minimum of a TA Junior Development) from either TA, TCA or the ITF. For those experienced industry coaches an RPL video submission is required to be lodged for assessment by the ATPCA RPL assessment committee to determine your level of coaching competency. If your situation falls under the RPL video submission pathway, please refer to the below Graduate and or Advanced Pro qualification eligibility requirements for further information to assist you in determining your ability to proceed with an RPL video submission

Graduate Pro Eligibility

Before you receive the RPL video submission guidelines from ATPCA, you need to be confident you can already satisfy the following RPL requirements.

Have a playing standard equivalent to at least ITN6 (middle intermediate competition standard).

Currently be coaching an average of 10+ hours per week.

Have a minimum 4 years coaching experience, delivering on-court group lessons to adults, juniors and kids ranging from beginner to lower intermediate playing abilities.

Possess a current First Aid Certificate and equivalent training in First Aid.

Possess a current Working with Childrens Check, Blue card or equivalent.

Successfully complete the ATPCA Graduate Pro online quiz (emailed after video submission).

If you can demonstrate achievement of the above requirements.
The next and final step in an RPL video submission application is for candidates to submit to ATPCA a video of themselves conducting a group coaching lesson with 5-6 pupils (beginner to lower intermediate playing abilities).

Advanced Pro Eligibility

Before you receive the RPL video submission guidelines from ATPCA, you need to be confident you can already satisfy the following RPL requirements.

Have a playing standard equivalent to at least ITN5 (competition standard).

Currently be coaching an average of 15+ hours per week.

Have a minimum 4 years coaching experience, delivering on-court squad based lessons to adults & juniors ranging from intermediate to advanced playing abilities.

Possess a current First Aid Certificate and equivalent training in First Aid.

Possess a current Working with Childrens Check, Blue card or equivalent.

Successfully complete the ATPCA Graduate Pro & Advanced Pro online quiz (emailed after video submission).

If you can demonstrate achievement of the above requirements. The next and final step in an RPL video submission application is for candidates to submit to ATPCA a video of themselves conducting both a group based coaching lesson to 5-6 pupils (beginner to lower intermediate playing abilities) and a squad based coaching lesson with 3-4 pupils (intermediate to advance playing abilities).

The Performance Tennis Pro Qualification Course is the quintessential practical qualification for the determined high performance and/or touring tennis professional. Whether you are looking to attain intuition into the mentoring of a high ranked player and/or to magnify upon your on-court coaching skills, the ATPCA Performance Tennis Pro Qualification course provides the prime opportunity for you to take your coaching credentials to the highest level.

This course is held over 40-hours of face to face training with 2 hours of home study and exposes course participants to numerous on and off court workshops and seminars delivered by a field of current world class leading experts and top tier coaching professionals within the tennis industry. This course aims to develop course participants to a proficient standard where they are able to confidently and professionally conduct:

The mentoring, training & management of a professionally ranked player.

A comprehensive teaching of the execution, tactics & mechanics of the return of serve.

An in-depth assessment of the playing style, effects, strengths & weaknesses of an elite tennis athletes next opponent.

A successful pre and post match briefing with an elite tennis athlete.

The required considerations and preparation of an elite tennis athlete relating to court playing surface and environmental factors.

A comprehensive teaching of the execution, tactics and mechanics of the forehand & backhand drop shot.

A comprehensive teaching of strategies and tactics to an elite tennis athlete.

Supervision of the required physical training and conditioning tools & techniques for an elite tennis athlete.

Equipment essentials for the modern day player.

The ATPCA Performance Tennis Pro Qualification Course is held only once per calendar year and entry into the course requires applicants to have a minimum of an Master Tennis Pro Qualification (or equivalent). There is a short online quiz (which can be completed as many times as necessary) to complete at home, that aims to further consolidate the knowledge obtained during your training course.

Course Graduates will receive an ATPCA National Performance Tennis Pro Accreditation Certificate, Coach License ID card & Insurance Certificate of Currency, to ensure they are properly covered to industry standards to continue or resume their coaching endeavours.

Whether you are looking to develop a comprehensive tennis business acumen and/or expand upon your on-court coaching knowledge & skills, the ATPCA Master Tennis Pro Qualification course provides the ideal opportunity for you to consolidate on tennis business/center management expertise & on-court coaching credentials for your continued success as a tennis professional.

This course is held over 32-hours of face to face training with 4 hours of home study and exposes course participants to numerous on and off court workshops and seminars delivered by a field of leading experts within the tennis industry. This course aims to develop course participants to a proficient standard where they are able to confidently and professionally conduct:

The delivery of private session based tennis drills to adults, juniors & kids up to National competition playing ability.

A comprehensive teaching of the slice forehand & backhand groundstroke mechanics.

A comprehensive teaching of the overhead & backhand smash mechanics.

A comprehensive teaching of the forehand & backhand drive volley mechanics.

Mastery error detection & correction analysis.

A comprehensive teaching of the offensive and defensive footwork techniques.

The ATPCA Master Tennis Pro Qualification Course is held only twice per calendar year and entry into the course requires applicants to have a minimum of an Advanced Tennis Pro Qualification (or equivalent). There is a short online quiz (which can be completed as many times as necessary) to complete at home, that aims to further consolidate the knowledge obtained during your training course.

The Advanced Tennis Pro Qualification Course is the ultimate practical on-court qualification for the advancing tennis professional. Whether you are looking to upgrade your current accreditation and/or expand upon your coaching knowledge, the ATPCA Advanced Tennis Pro Qualification course provides the perfect opportunity for your continued development as a tennis professional.

This course is held over 24-hours of face to face out on-court training with 4 hours of home study. This course aims to develop course participants to a proficient standard where they are able to confidently and professionally conduct:

The delivery of squad session based tennis drills to adults and juniors up to an advanced playing ability.

A comprehensive teaching of the serve mechanics.

A comprehensive teaching of the topspin double handed backhand groundstroke mechanics.

A comprehensive teaching of the topspin single handed backhand groundstroke mechanics.

A comprehensive teaching of the topspin forehand groundstroke mechanics.

A comprehensive teaching of the forehand volley mechanics.

A comprehensive teaching of the backhand volley mechanics.
